Samsung Digital Appliances’ 9th Cooking Workshop
When I got married in 2008, I didn't know really know how to whip up dishes. I can cook fried eggs, fried hotdogs and cold cuts, canned tuna, etc. But to really cook--- prep ingredients and follow a step by step process, I couldn't do. That was in 2008.
My husband and I were both working in a BPO company so we normally eat before coming home in the morning and eat when we get to the office. There was absolutely no need to cook.
Things changed when I got pregnant. I decided to work at home fulltime and my husband followed suit 6 months after.
Things changed when I got pregnant. I decided to work at home fulltime and my husband followed suit 6 months after.
We are at home 24 hours everyday so we need to eat real food.
Thanks to the power of the internet, I was able to slowly add dishes to my list. I can say that I am now a homemaker in the kitchen. I can prepare a feast for a small group of friends and family occassionally.
Whenever I watch my favorite cooking shows, I get discouraged when they get to the part where they put the casserole inside their oven. It's a dead end for me because we don't have an oven just a small toaster that can accommodate a maximum of 3 slices of bread.
When I received an invite to join the Samsung Digital Appliances’ 9th Cooking Workshop
last November 27 at the GalaStars Culinary School, I was very excited and immediately confirmed my attendance. I will attend a cooking workshop under Samsung Digital Appliances Ambassador Chef
Ernest Gala and be able to use the Samsung Refrigerator and Samsung Smart Oven.
I've been seeing both at the appliance stores and has been silently wishing to have them in my tiny kitchen soon.

Smart Ovens
The Samsung Smart Oven will surely meet families’ on-the-go lifestyle as well as their need for healthy food. It has features that make it the all-in-one cooking solution, veering away from the usual only “reheating” feature of microwaves. It has the SLIM FRY Technology that allows oil-free frying and fuss-free frying and grilling. Aside from upgrading the kitchen, cooking skills are about to level up with this appliance.Samsung Refrigerator
Samsung’s refrigerator addresses issues on energy efficiency by saving up to 50% on energy consumption based on Meralco testing and reducing noise production, as well as space efficiency by offering a wide range of capacities to fit every household. To further deliver peace of mind to the family, each refrigerator comes with a 10 year warranty on the compressor.
It was really a funfilled educational experience and I was able to meet fellow bloggers.

Who loved what I cooked?
Pointers on Cooking Learned during the session from Chef Ernest:
- When melting chocolate in the microwave use clear plastic to cover bowl, don't use blue or green because they can make the bowl heat up.
- When to add flour? When you can no longer see the egg. When you can't see the flour, mixing is done.
- When using a hand mixer, Start on low speed to avoid the mixture exploding on your face.
- White onion goes well with chicken.
- The more you mix the longer it cooks.
- Once you smell the onion, you can add other ingredients.
- When chicked changes its color, it is cooked. It is better to be undercooked than overcooked since it will still be baked.
- When adding milk, use whisk to make sauce thick.
- Adding cheese early will lose the fat, hence, lost flavor.
- Hard cheese for taste, Soft cheese for texture.
