Established in 2011, the Asian Grand Prix International Ballet Competition (AGP) is an annual competition hosted by Youth Ballet of Asia and operated by Hong Kong Arts Development & Production Company Ltd.

A preview of Ballet Manila's entry will also allow dance enthusiasts all over the country to cheer for their world class performers in "Flight 1" on July 31, and "Flight 2" on August 1 at 8 pm at the Star Theater.

"Flight 1" and "Flight 2" are two different shows featuring the dance company's bestseller pieces by top choreographers Agnes Locsin, Augustus Damian III, Gerardo Francisco, and the late Tony Fabella.  The show also includes classical showstoppers "Don Quixote," "Sleeping Beauty," "Le Corsaire" and the "Black Swan Pas De Deux" from "Swan Lake".

“Two nights, two completely different programs.  The back-to-back concert will showcase the best of Ballet Manila and highlight the skill and artistry of all the dancer-competitors.  Am truly proud of this year’s competitors; keeping my fingers crossed that we do well this year.” says Lisa Macuja Elizalde, Ballet Manila Artistic Director and CEO.

Asian Grand Prix International Ballet Competition (AGP) is now on its fifth year and it aims to recognize the artistic excellence of local and international dancers by allowing participants to demonstrate their talent, explore their potential, and learn from their peers and dance professionals.

Outstanding dancers receive cash awards for career advancement in
Professional Ballet Companies. They can also receive training scholarships in renowned ballet schools.

When Ballet Manila first joined AGP in 2012 the dance company won Finalist certificates and top honors including the Bronze Medal in the Pas de Due division and the Most Promising Male Danseur award.

In 2013, Ballet Manila won Finalist certificates and the Silver Medal in Junior B division, the Bronze Medal in the Senior division, and the Silver and Bronze Medal in the Pas De Deux division.

This year, 23 dancers from the Ballet Manila Company and School of Ballet Manila will compete in the Junior A, Junior B, Junior C, Pre-Senior, Senior and Pas de Deux, categories.

Hopefully, we’d be able to squeeze in some time to join Ballet Manila’s Artistic Director Lisa Macula-Elizalde at the front seat of The Star Theater, as she sends off her most talented dancers to the international competition.

Tickets for "Flight 1' sand "Flight 2" are available at Ticketworld outlets, www.ticketworld.com.ph, or call 891 9999 and the Ballet Manila marketing hotline at 552 7502. Those who will purchase tickets for both shows will get a 20% discount.

Entrepreneurs and Freelancers Forum 2020

Fulltime WAHM since Nov 2009. My decision to become one gave birth to this blog. 😍 In 2015, my husband started KANSIS Made and I had to juggle my time between freelance work and being the business director of our micro-enterprise. In doing both plus being a hands-on mom, I've always met challenges with time management. But in every crossroad, I always remind myself of the reason why I decided to leave the corporate world and become a fulltime WAHM - to have more time with my family. I've always tried to advocate the benefits of being a fulltime WAHM to fellow moms and moms to be. I don't tire of talking about how I started as a fulltime WAHM and together with my husband, we managed to pay off the house, the car and send our daughter to school. Unlocking the (sad) moments: Angelina

M is an only child. But not really... we have two more but both were too special, God took them back right away. Genesis is M's Kuya. I wrote about our first miscarriage in Jan 2009. In 2016, we gained another angel. But it was too painful, I managed to lock the memory in. I've spent years trying not to think about what happened.  I think I erased it from my mind. Today is Angelina's 6th year in heaven. As I recover and heal, the memory of losing her is slowly coming back. 2016 It was a really busy year. It was a busy year for Kenny and KANSIS Made. It was a busy year for McKenzie. It was a busy year for me as a WAHM. We were all too busy, we didn't know I was pregnant. In August, we went to Bacolod with Ken for his Dremel Brand Ambassador stint. I had spotting when we were inflight. But I didn't really mind it. I thought my period was coming. --- these parts are still missing, I will try to add when I remember. Sep 7 we rushed M to the hospital where she was admi...

when i meet love again

when i meet love again, i hope i’ll be enough. i hope it chooses me without wanting to change me. i hope i'm exactly what it’s looking for. and if it finds out i'm a work-in-progress and a little damaged, i hope it still sees me as someone worth staying with. when i meet love again, i hope it's clear. i hope it shows up as love, not sadness in disguise or just temporary happiness posing as romance. i hope it knows that loving me means having me on my best days and also my boring, weak, and unlovable days. when i meet love again, i hope it meets me halfway. i hope it’s excited to be loved right, just as it wants to love me right. i hope it’s the one that will happily reciprocate my energy, learn my habits and languages, and go the extra mile to show me what i deserve. and finally, when i meet love again, i hope this time it’s meant to last
